Gideon

I want to write a poem
containing everything
that I liked and loved
about you.

But alas! Twenty-six letters
of the alphabet are not enough
to encapsulate even a single flake
of your being.

But still, l will try,
because this feeling
would not even let my head
go to slumber.

For all that has been and will be
one thing is for certain,
you, my beloved, is an
endless metaphor…

You are a wild fire that burns
my skin with every single touch.
You are the blood that rushes
to my lips to bring out the life in it.

You are the truth that shakes
the very foundation of my soul.
You are the beam of light that illuminates
the deepest abyss of my mind.

You are the faith that uplifts
this fallen spirit of mine.
You are the certainty that erases
every doubt in my heart.

I will stop here for now,
for elucidating you is a limitless venture,
just like my love: unbounded, inexhaustible, enduring
in this finite world of ours.

My first poem for the year. I was torn between writing an ode and a haiku, but look where I ended up… writing a free verse! ^^;
Haha it took me this long to create a new one. I’ve been busy with work and dates for the past months. πŸ˜€

Tim Ho Wan Pork Buns

I’ve always been curious of Tim Ho Wan’s pork buns. I didn’t get the chance to try it when I was in the Philippines due to the long queue at the restaurant in Megamall and also the prejudice that it’s expensive. Last Saturday, after surpassing the obstacles in Forest Adventure (my body aches ’til now huhu), Gid and I went to Bedok Mall to grab something to eat. We were deciding whether to buy a refreshing drink or to have early dinner at Wingstop. While deciding, we happened to pass by Tim Ho Wan. I think Gid noticed the sparkle in my eyes when I saw that there’s no queue and pork buns were only 5$. He immediately suggested that we try it (you’re the best!). When we were browsing the menu, we learned that the 5$ includes 3 pieces of pork buns already.😍 The staff there were nice and very attentive, our order was served fast. As I took the first bite, the softness of the bread surprised me (as if I’m biting snow, kidding). The BBQ pork filling was tasty and had generous portions in each bun. After finishing all three, I think my tummy was highly satisfied as well as Gid’s. It was the best 5$ I spent so far here in Singapore haha! 😜

Another item on my “I wanna eat there” list has been crossed out. We will definitely go back again to taste those heavenly buns. Omnomnom! πŸ™‚

Malaysia: Legoland x Hello Kitty Town

Finally able to tick this off my bucket list. I always wanted to go to Legoland and Hello Kitty town (since I love hello kitty very much). πŸ˜€

Kismet.

This was a story of girl meets boy
and it was not a love story
from the start

It’s your typical chick flick,
where she fell faster than gravity’s pull
but has played the roleΒ of his pal

Pride was her sharpest sword,
inexperience his strongest shield
making it hard for cupid to do his job

A year almost passed,
both went their separate paths
with other people being their firsts

Nurtured by triumphs
and withered by bad decisions
they continued to grow apart

Then a sudden plot twist
has shaken things a bit,
making their roads cross again.

All they needed was a second chance
for the girl full of yesterday’s scars,
and for the boy haunted by past faults.

She didn’t see it coming,
the day those three words
slipped through the boy’s lips.

Was it really fate or not?
nobody can ever tell
both only knew they fell

This is a story of girl meetsΒ boy
and it’s a love story
currently in-progress. πŸ™‚

This is my first attempt in writing a poem after a year. I wrote this in the wee hours of the morning so please pardon if it lacks artistic style or even coherence.

I’ll try creating another one in my free time. xD

24th: A Year Before Silver.

March 22, 2015.

It was my first birthday away from home… Literally!!! I wasn’t able to celebrate it with my family and close friends that’s why I felt a little sad somehow. I suddenly missed mama’s cooking, especially her spaghetti and tuna carbonara. :((

Surprised!!!
I didn’t expect that there’s a surprise in stored for me come midnight. I was just chillin’ at the balcony when they asked me to go inside the room. Gid said that I should open the door after 3 knocks… Hmmmm.

Touched.😭

As I went out of the room the Happy Birthday song was playing as they greeted me with my birthday cake. 😭 There were balloons with my pictures at the hallway (one balloon flew outside, hope my picture won’t be used for personal gain, kidding!). Gid gave me a paperbag containing a usb drive and a white box. The usb drive contained a movie collage of my pictures with dedications and at the end was a video of me dancing on stage. (It was the most embarassing moment in my college life) 😑😑😑 On the other hand, the white box contains a silver pandora bracelet. 😳

Aha! Here’s the mastermind… xD
😳😳😳
Ate Vangie’s cooking was superb! πŸ˜‹

With officemates. Thank you for coming! 😍

I know it’s a little late to say thank you for this one. (post has been sitting in my drafts folder for months xD) You do know how to make me happy through your own ways. I wasn’t expecting anything that’s why I was really taken by surprise with all the effort you’ve put into this. I still couldn’t believe that you can do such a thing hehe. *pinches self* πŸ˜†

Thank you! 😊

The best things in life are usually found when you are not looking for them.

Falling Slowly – Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova

I don’t know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can’t react
And games that never amount
To more than they’re meant
Will play themselves out

[Chorus]
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can’t go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I’m painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It’s time that you won

[Chorus]
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ll make it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I’ll sing along

———————————–

This song is so beautiful… It reminds me of the time when feelings start to blossom once again. A time for new beginnings. πŸ™‚ I can listen to this song over and over until I fall asleep, the melody is so dreamy. ☺️

Kris Allen’s version in American Idol was also nice. 😁

Place I’d Rather Be.

After months of staying in Singapore, I decided to have an impromptu visit to the Philippines. I went home not because I’m feeling homesick or any. I went home because I want to surprise my family (they’re expecting me to go home on October hehe >:)), to catchup with friends, to shop (yay for cheaper goods), and most of all to hug and kiss Ashe my beloved cat. :3

It was my first time to go home since I arrived in SG last November. I wasn’t able to allot time to some of my friends but I’ll make it up to them the next time I return. ;_;

Below is the summary of my short stay captured in pictures:
