On my joining day
A guy in a black polo
Never left my mind
His smile makes my day
Whenever we’re together
I can’t help but fall
Little did I know
He will be holding my hand
For the years to come
First attempt in writing a haiku! The 5-7-5 syllabication is kinda challenging. I don’t know if “we’re” can be considered as one syllable. But nonetheless I feel proud of my work haha! 😅
I want to write a poem
that I liked and loved
But alas! Twenty-six letters
of the alphabet are not enough
to encapsulate even a single flake
of your being.
But still, l will try,
because this feeling
would not even let my head
go to slumber.
For all that has been and will be
one thing is for certain,
you, my beloved, is an
You are a wild fire that burns
my skin with every single touch.
You are the blood that rushes
to my lips to bring out the life in it.
You are the truth that shakes
the very foundation of my soul.
You are the beam of light that illuminates
the deepest abyss of my mind.
You are the faith that uplifts
this fallen spirit of mine.
You are the certainty that erases
every doubt in my heart.
I will stop here for now,
for elucidating you is a limitless venture,
just like my love: unbounded, inexhaustible, enduring
in this finite world of ours.
My first poem for the year. I was torn between writing an ode and a haiku, but look where I ended up… writing a free verse! ^^;
Haha it took me this long to create a new one. I’ve been busy with work and dates for the past months. 😀
This was a story of girl meets boy
and it was not a love story
from the start
It’s your typical chick flick,
where she fell faster than gravity’s pull
but has played the role of his pal
Pride was her sharpest sword,
inexperience his strongest shield
making it hard for cupid to do his job
A year almost passed,
both went their separate paths
with other people being their firsts
Nurtured by triumphs
and withered by bad decisions
they continued to grow apart
Then a sudden plot twist
has shaken things a bit,
making their roads cross again.
All they needed was a second chance
for the girl full of yesterday’s scars,
and for the boy haunted by past faults.
She didn’t see it coming,
the day those three words
slipped through the boy’s lips.
Was it really fate or not?
nobody can ever tell
both only knew they fell
This is a story of girl meets boy
and it’s a love story
currently in-progress. 🙂
This is my first attempt in writing a poem after a year. I wrote this in the wee hours of the morning so please pardon if it lacks artistic style or even coherence.
I’ll try creating another one in my free time. xD
